The DRV Duplex Control System controls the speed of two 50Hp raw sewage pumps. The plant operator sets the desired raw sewage wet well level (set-point) via a state-of-the-art graphical touch screen located on the front of the system enclosure.
An industrial, heavy-duty, dual compressor bubbler system transmits a 4-20mA signal proportional to wet well level to the system controller. The system controller uses a PID algorithm to compare actual well level to the set-point and then varies the speed of the pumps to maintain well level at the desired set point.
Should the main system controller fail, an indicating manometer automatically assumes control of the pumps. The automatic backup system maintains all interlock and seal water logic when transferring to backup. The manometer also backs up the bubbler system. Manual operation of the system is provided by a complete set of pushbuttons and indicator lights.
The control system is designed to meet station operator needs without assistance from a factory technician or a call for technical support. The graphical touch screen makes it easy for station operators to change, adjust, or customize the system. Pump parameters can be set simply by touching the screen. Menus and screen instructions are written in clear non-technical language that is easy to understand.
