Field Service Technician/Engineer

 

Job Description:

DRV Inc. with locations in Pittsburgh, PA, and Cleveland, OH, distributes, designs, develops and manufactures high-quality industrial motor control system solutions for the industrial and municipal marketplace. We are seeking an individual willing to be trained to become a skilled Field Service Engineer or Field Technician to join our service group and provide a high level of technical support and services and to provide installation, test, debug and repair of complex Variable Frequency Drive, Servo Drive, and DC Drive motor control solutions.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Field service, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of equipment located in the tri-state area, as well as in our facilities.

Installation, preventive maintenance, commissioning services.

Assembly, test, debug and repair of electrical circuit, wiring.

PLC and Drive programming.

 

Qualifications (Skills) Required:

Working independently at customer sites providing maintenance, diagnosing, and resolving system problems.

Effectively interface with customers by phone and in-person to diagnose and resolve system problems.

Must be able to lift 50-pound objects and carry them a distance of 150 feet.

Travel regularly in the tri-state area with occasional overnight stay, some out of state may be required.

The selected candidate may be required to submit to drug screening and additional background investigations.

Valid drives license and reliable vehicle with mileage compensation provided.

 

 

Qualifications(Skills) that are desirable:

A technical degree in Electronics, Electrical, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, with 2 years of relevant experience.

Technical experience or formal training in the service of complex, automated, industrial control systems.

Understanding and troubleshooting of motor control circuits, instrumentation, PLC and VFD troubleshooting. 

Effectively use multi-meters, oscilloscopes, for testing and troubleshooting equipment to the component level.

Installing and testing computer networks and Network Switches.

Electro-Mechanical system assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair.

Installing and configuring PC application software and operating systems.

Configuring and installing local area network (LAN) and wireless (Wi-Fi) systems.
